WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm. See www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to warn California consumers about exposure to chemicals the state has found to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Many vehicle parts contain such chemicals, for example lead in brass fittings or compounds in rubber and gaskets.
The list is kept by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA). The current warning format took effect on August 30, 2018. For details, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
